Description, Habitat and Distribution | |
Botanical Description |
Erect annual or biennial up to 70 cm, stems glabrous or sparsely pubescent, often branched at base and apex. Basal leaves petiolate, lyrate to pinnatifid, 3–15 cm long, with oblong or lanceolate lateral lobes smaller than the terminal lobe; upper cauline leaves lanceolate to sublinear, sessile. Inflorescence a terminal raceme, elongating in fruit, many-flowered. Pedicels divaricate, straight, 15–25 mm in fruit. Sepals ascending to spreading, 3–4 × 1–1.5 mm. Petals bright yellow, 10–13 × 4.5–6 mm, claw minute or absent. Stamens 6, tetradynamous, filaments 3.5–6 mm, anthers 1–1.3 mm. Fruit oblong to subglobose, 9–13 × 5–6.5 mm, with four irregularly dentate wings, subquadrangular, 4-loculed. Style 3.5–5 mm. Seeds 3–4 per fruit, 2–3.5 mm, brown, smooth. | |
