Further Information: This diurnal moth is very common in autumn. The larva feeds on Beta (beet), Zea (corn), and Spinacia (Spinach). The larva is green and about 2cm long. In Malta, the larva is commonly found on wild Amaranthus such as Amaranthus viridis and A. retrofleus, where it also froms the pupa amongst the inflorescences or lower side of leaves. |
