Further Information: This Cerambycid was accidentaly introduced to the Maltese islands with some wood imports. The larva feeds on the Morus nigra wood until it is ready to pupate and reach adult stage. It also feeds on fig trees. When the adult emerges from the trunk fo the tree it flies off to mate and to find another tree. Galleries dug by this pest are about 2cm in diameter. |
