Further Information: Feeding mainly on Ivy as a larva, this species can be found locally in the Buskett area. The red-brown males fly during the hours of daylight, whereas the paler females fly after sunset. The common name originates from the acorn-like cocoon (oak is not a host plant). Locally a protected species. |
