Further Information: Strong fliers, bumble bees are usually seen consuming nectar of a wide range of flowers, such as Bear's Breeches and Snapdragon. They construct a nest out of grass and wax beneath the soil surface, usually in old rat holes or at the base of tall vegetation. Only mated females will survive throughout the winter to start a new colony. |
