Anogramma: A Genus of ferns with few species belonging to the family Pteridaceae. The name is composed of two words 'Ano-' = above; upwards; '-gramma' = line or striped. Although its reference is not certain, it may refer linear grooves on the upper surface of the leaves. (Latin origin )
leptophylla: From 'lepto' = thin, slender; 'phylla' = leaves, hence thin leaves. (Greek origin )

Botanical Description: |
Stock with a few scales when young. Leaves slightly hairy when young, soon becoming glabrous; outer leaves sterile, much shorter than the fertile leaves and with thin, obovate-cuneate pinnules, lobed or dentate at the apex; fertile leaves 3-20 cm, with narrowly obovate-cuneate pinnules. Sori appearing confluent when mature. |
