Can be planted in rural areas according to ERA Guidelines

Remarks :

Some plants were found at the Fiddien/Qlejgha valley system in Rabat. These plants were re-introduced by Mr. Timothy Tabone from native stock originally growing in Bahrija Valley and which for many years believed to be extinct from the wild, as also indicated in the Red Data Book. Stock material was collected by Timothy in 1996. The plants were spotted in May 2013 and hopefully they survive and regenerate into established populations. Note that this species is strictly protected by law. It can be identified by having wool-like hair, growing along or close to water courses, and forms lilac flowers in June till the end of Summer. Other Teucrium species in Malta are not usually found close to water courses.
