Cannot be planted in the wild (rural areas) since the species may be invasive (see ERA guidelines)


Description, Habitat and Distribution
Habitat in Europe: Cultivated for ornament and occassionally naturalised as a garden escape
Preferred habitat in Malta: Ornamental climber which have seen persisting and expanding after being abandoned such as in old farm houses, rubble walls of fields or walls of old gardens.
Botanical Description: Scrambling, glabrous perennial with ovate to lanceolate leaves 3-5 x 2.5-3 cm which are cuneate at the base, angled or weakly lobed and petiolate; the capitula are 12-25 mm in diameter, in compound corymbs or panicles, the involucre is 4-8 mm, with 3-7 supplementary bracts, and there are 4-6 yellow ligules 5-10 mm.
Distributional range: Few stations in South Europe (Mediterranean region)
